so, yeah, wow - been a while. Lack of an internet connection does that to you I suppose. Finally got virgin installed where I'm now living though so I no longer have to rely on the few and far between times when I steal Al and Luggage's internet!

Right, brief update. Graduated, currently unemployed, trying and failing to get a job, been bullied into playing a d+d game - loving it, will then be playing a Serenity RP game with Al, Luggage (possibly), Lee and a few others after Lee's D+D game has finished. Hopefully playing the Serenity RP game will get me keen for the LARP system. Planning to play the new Odyssey system and actually play instead of monster Outcast.

Finally managed to get keen, well - keener, about my new LT character. Was on a bit of a down after having two characters killed within 3 events. But Hides-in-Crowds is fun to play especially after the ritual of win. Am not awesome quite yet, but am definitely getting there.

Have discovered something that never fails to put me in a good mood, no matter now annoyed or down I am - kit shopping!! went into town with Tom this afternoon and have now finally sorted my monster kit so that I can actually book for the Vipers event =D *happy dance* think I'm going to about 5 sanctioned events before the main 4 so am full of keen at the moment =D

not sure posting this, am listening to a 12-hour dramatisation of LOTR and this just called out. I'm odd, I realise this :)

walked into uni for my lecture today, saw both my housemates leaving uni as I got to the gate onto campus. Not that an unusual occurrence. But one of my housemates is on the exact same course as me, and aside from our seminar sessions, has all of the same lectures as me.

It's not my problem that he never goes to lectures, out of 10 so far this term he's been to two, so why does it still piss me off!!!?? :( Don't know why it gets to me, it's his degree that he's screwing up and his Masters course that he wants to get on to. Meh, annoyed me today :( especially as he said at the start of the year that he was going to go all of his lectures this year as he needed to do well.

anyway, rant over.

have no more chocolate left :( am very tempted to go out and buy some more but am trying to at least eat vaguely healthily. probably won't last that long though! =D
meh, stomach is complaining about the lack of food so am going on a food hunt :)

I'm an archaeologist, that in itself makes me wary of being buried. The idea of being dug up in several hundred years time and left in a box somewhere, not something that makes me happy inside.

So yeah, cremation - the way forward. Ashes scattered somewhere that meant something, although unlike Morg - not at Locko Park!

:( wanted to read today's fandom secret post but it's not up yet *flails* can't get through the day without that!

meh, had presentation - was blatently the worst one of the four that we had today. Shortest, least researched, and generally lame-est. Although I can be proud that I didn't look at the projector whilst talking =D really need to get a first for the assessed presentation, is scary that it's worth the same as a three hour exam :( that shouldn't be allowed.

But general yayness! Am in a much better mood today which is good :) only downside it that I have work when all I really want to do is to get some work done and collapse onto my bed. Ah well, need to write up an attempt at a conclusion after work for my meeting tomorrow, eeep! My conclusion so far is, 'there's no evidence to support anything that anyone writes about this subject. Therefore it's a pointless debate'. Somehow I don't think it'll go down too well! =D

Also realised that I've done no singing practise since before Christmas and that I should phone my teacher and sort some lessons out. If I actually want to pass my Diploma in June that I should really work for it. Plus I've got a new opera aria book with so many pretty things to sing! *bounces*

Has been a pretty good evening all told, learning still more about LJ, meeting people through LJ, alcohol, epic game of Magic that lasted about 3 hours and an online conversation that lasted about 9 hours.

It's impressive how conversations can be started from the most pointless of things, in this case - a fear of houses (and yes, you're still odd and bizarre!) so yeah someone else that I know in LARP and cute too, always a plus!

Currently listening to housemates gf read disturbing personal ads, my house is full of strange conversations - and when I'm this sleepy they seem even more bizarre.

I can't believe it's nearly 3am and I'm still awake, have soooooooo much to do tomorrow to get my dissertation rewritten and finished. It's not like it's worth a 1/4 of my entire degree!

Oh dear god, conversation has now moved on to whether aliens and exist and whether wormholes can actually happen, can I be scared now?

Also have a craving to watch Iron Man, but don't think I could stay awake til 5am to watch it all.

okaaaaaaaaaaaay, sleepiness means that my bed is calling - so sleeping in til tomorrow afternoon!

Felicity Kendal, she’s one of my favourite actresses and has had such an amazing life.

2. What character would you app at FH if we convinced you to app?
Ooooooo, if I had complete choice then probably Severus Snape unless there’s a ‘stick-to-your-own-gender’ thing in which case probably Galinda Upland (WICKED).
Sev would be fun to write as a teenager, probably more so than as an adult which is what I’m used to! =D

3. Where is your favorite place?
Now this is hard! It has be in Italy, a small town just outside Sorrento which is near Naples. The town’s called San’Angello and has a small café on a pier over the ocean. Watching sunsets there is amazing =D

4. When did you discover LJ?
Well, I thought that I discovered it about a year ago, but I’ve since found an account that I used to use whilst I was at school about 4 years ago. I read some of the post’s and was very ashamed!

5. Why did you get to go to Egypt for two weeks?
This was part of my degree course, last Easter. I went on a ‘study-tour’ with four other girls to essentially just spend 2 weeks looking at monuments and stuff and then had to write a report on it when we got back!
(So many places in Egypt that I saw on that trip came a close 2nd for my favourite place!)

OMG am so tired, today has not been so fun. Up at 8, dissertation presentation for 2 hours, lecture, 4 hours in library, home for half an hour, work, finally home to collapse. Should be watching a film for my Classics and Film lecture tomorrow but just don't have the energy to read subtitles. Will try tomorrow morn! lol, like that will happen.

and also yay, meeting new people through LJ. Even if they are being evil-enablers! When I start posting on Fandom High they will have succeeded, so far I'm resisting! Have faaaaaar too much work to do to RP on LJ, even though it does look fun =D Think will stick with the LARPing for now before moving on to web-RPing. Least no-ones trying to get me to try table-top anymore, think that would have been a step too far.

just stumbled onto a community for people doing the '101 things in 1001 days', name kinda explains it all really. Had a look at the lists and, ignoring the ones written by 16 year old's who put things like 'pass a-levels' and 'get into university', they seem to be written by people who just don't do anything!
Things like, 'go to the cinema' or 'go to the theatre more than once' - to me that's a pretty common occurrence, I'm going to see Twelfth Night in London on Weds and that was pretty spur of the moment a few weeks ago when I bought the tickets. Going to the same theatre in a few months to see Judy Dench and Rosamund Pike in the Madame de Sade with Nicky (well, I haven't actually asked her to go yet but hopefully she'll want to go too!)
I guess I just get confused when people talk about those kind of things as a big thing to do. I grew up with the theatre, going out to see things with my parents and then friends at uni. Tickets are never that expensive so I've never quite understood why more people don't go.

mmmm, sounds slightly like moaning although I'm not sure what about!

meh, I guess I just wanted to make a list like that to do, to try and achieve things - but looking at other peoples lists for inspiration just didn't help.

Anyway - took the Christmas decorations down today. Felt sad, but in a different way from when I was younger. I used to get sad because the house didn't feel as happy or look as pretty. It also meant that the holiday was nearly over and I'd have to go back to school. Now it's different. I love this time of year and I think I'm sad because I don't know when I'll next spend this much time with family and people that I care about and because it's almost like real life has to start again. Things that I could ignore and put to the back of mind over the past few weeks and now even scarier than they were before. I just don't like endings I guess!

Have sent booking forms off for three LARP events in the past few days though =D one bank/armourers, one COG and the Taratula/Incantor event. Now I just need to hope that the Jackal sanctioned doesn't clash on one of those weekends! It's kinda annoying though, the winter event was publisied for months before the Gathering and the event was in November. The spring event for the Jackals doesn't even have a provisional date and most of the other factions at least have that sorted. Doesn't help that the LT have changed how they do the Moots, think the Unicorns might have to try and change their sanctioned event as it falls on the same weekend as the Spring Moot!

Anyway, should get back to work - the joy of being a final year student who wants to pass their degree! Actual work must occur!!

it's always nice to open your laptop and watch it connect to a wireless network when you know that you don't have one set up. Silly people who don't put passwords on! =D
This is often the downside to spending time at my dad's as his laptop is lame and he can never be bothered to set up his wireless even though he has all the stuff for it :( meh, free internet for the moment so all is good!

and before I forget, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's hoping that 2009 will be better than 2008!

reasons that 2008 sucked:
- end of a year and a half long relationship, was not pretty when it ended :(
- went into my final year at university, kinda good but mostly not as it's close to the end now and there's sooooo much work!
- Anna broke up with Tom/Tremaine, not good :(
- Nicky went away to London :(
- end of a 4 month relationship that I possibly shouldn't have got into in the first place :(
- didn't go clubbing nearly enough for a student!

reasons that 2008 was awesome:
- Tom introduced me to LARP! possibly the best thing that's happened to me in a long time . So many awesome people and good friends, even have a brand new concept for when Kiara dies =D
- had my first 1 year anniversary, it sucked on the day but I've had one!
- We got a kitten!
- Had an awesome 20th birthday
- started to drive, so the best thing in the world!
- HSM 3 came out!
- my mum's partner proposed to her, I've never been so happy in my life and I'm gonna be the BEST Maid of Honour ever! Although mum does want me to sing something at the wedding so I'm a tad scared by that!

so yeah, a pretty good year really, same ups and downs that most people have I imagine.
Had a pretty cool New Years Eve, got fairly drunk last year and spent it with Ruth, my ex - but ended up looking after even drunker people which wasn't fun. This year spent it chilling out with Tom, watched the remake of the Thomas Crown Affair and chatted about LARP and stuff in general! Need to go out next year, try and alternate it maybe =D

Stll haven't really decided on a New Years Resolution, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

hmmmm, have discovered to my great delight that the pain in my side over the past week has turned from a strained muscle into a torn muscle *cue unimpressed look*
Although it does mean several days of having an excuse to stay in bed and do very little except watch many DVD's =D Step-father tried to be useful and went out to get pain killers but came home with soluble cocodamol, :( nearly threw up taking it - that stuff does not make water taste good!

Anyway, have now recovered from the alcohol consumption time that was Christmas, swaying grandparents is always fun to watch! and my skittle vodka worked! I'm so gonna make some for the next LARP event I go to, small amount gives you an awesome warm feeling inside, perfect against the cold at 1am =D

Meh, pain is increasing so am heading to the warmth of my bed to watch a 3 hour Sense and Sensibility (hey, I'm a girl therefore it's allowed! At least it's not the 5 1/2 hour Pride and Prejudice!)
